Audio CDs and CUE Albums
An Audio CD needs a working disc drive. A CUE file is an index on your disk, usually pointing to a whole-album audio file. Both can expose individual tracks, but playing or indexing them does not copy the audio into your library.
These capabilities are present in the current
D:\ECHOsource. Available menus, CD input, and platforms depend on the installed build. Windows is the primary distribution platform.
Play an Audio CD
Section titled “Play an Audio CD”- Insert a standard audio disc and open
Audio CD. - Select the correct drive if there is more than one, then click
Refresh. - Play a track or choose
Play disc. - Stop playback before changing discs; use
Ejectwhen finished.
The page reports drive, track, and CD input status separately. No drive, no loaded disc, and no readable tracks are different problems. Check the hardware and disc first. If a reader component or FFmpeg is unavailable, check the app installation rather than rebuilding your library.
Look up album and cover sends the disc ID to MusicBrainz and retrieves artwork from Cover Art Archive only after you click it. Global offline mode blocks this lookup.
Import a CUE album
Section titled “Import a CUE album”Keep the CUE and its audio file together, for example:
Album/ album.flac album.cue cover.jpgImport the folder and inspect track numbers in the album view. A renamed or missing audio file can break the filename reference inside the CUE. Virtual tracks share one source file, so check the whole album before moving or removing that source.
If you need separate audio files, the current source has a CUE album split workflow. Review the planned tracks, source files, output directory, and FFmpeg status before starting. Choose a new output directory with enough space; then spot-check the first and last tracks and their transitions. Keep the original album until verification is complete.
See Import Audio Sources for normal folders and Common Sticking Points for playback problems.
