Songs, Albums, Artists, Genres, and Folders

These pages are different views of the same music. Seeing a track under Songs and Albums does not mean there are two files. Import a folder first.

Based on current D:\ECHO desktop source. Controls can vary by edition and installed version.

  1. Clear any old search and filters, then search part of a title, artist, or album.
  2. Check whether the source is local or a selected remote library.
  3. Narrow results by available audio/file format, imported folder, year, genre, duplicate status, or osu! tracks.
  4. Sort by title, artist, album, track number, year, last play, play count, audio specification, duration, or random. Some builds support multi-sort.
  5. Double-click or press Play and verify the track and progress in the bottom player.

Filters do not edit tags or delete files. If a track disappears, reset filters and check the source before rescanning. Random list order is separate from queue shuffle.

Open an album detail to check track and disc order. If one album splits into several, compare album and albumArtist; inspect embedded and folder artwork before clearing caches. See Library Management.

Artists and Genres group existing metadata. An empty genre appears as unclassified; external tag edits need a targeted rescan. Folders shows your import roots, not copies of your music. If a drive goes offline or changes letter, verify the real path before repairing entries. See Game Music Folders and Audio CDs and CUE Albums for special imports.

An indexed track can remain visible after its file moves. Check the path when it cannot play. Seeing a track on two different pages is not proof of duplication. Renaming a file does not necessarily change its embedded title.
