Playback Queue and Modes
The queue controls what plays now and next. A playlist is a longer-lived collection or rule. Start a track from Songs, then open Queue and identify the current and next items.
Arrange tracks
Section titled “Arrange tracks”- Use
Play Nextto insert a track after the current one, or add it to the end of the queue. - Drag rows to reorder. Select several rows before using the temporary play-after-current action.
- Remove selected queue items when you no longer want them. This does not delete library entries or files.
- Mark an item
Remove After Playif it should disappear once heard.
The queue has search, bulk selection, and an undo receipt for some actions. Check for Undo before rebuilding the whole queue after a mistake.
Playback modes
Section titled “Playback modes”| Mode | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Sequence | Follow queue order |
| Shuffle | Choose a next track from the available scope; separate from random sorting on Songs |
| Repeat one | Replay the current track |
| Repeat all | Return to the queue start after the last item |
| Auto-fill | Add eligible suggestions when the queue runs low |
The shuffle rule can avoid the last 0, 25, or 100 tracks in current source. A tiny library may still have few candidates. Check the next-track preview to see the current scope.
Transitions
Section titled “Transitions”Normal transition uses ordinary switching or a configured fixed fade. Gapless works for eligible continuous tracks. Smart Transition Beta analyzes beat, phrase, and energy to choose a more natural join, then falls back where unsupported. Test with familiar tracks; choosing a mode does not mean every pair qualifies. See Audio Output for the actual signal path.
Save the session
Section titled “Save the session”Save Current Queue creates a local snapshot, not a cross-computer backup. Restore it later only after checking what is currently playing. Save as Playlist keeps eligible local tracks long term; remote or streaming items may be excluded. Generate from history or at random when you want new choices. Clearing a queue never deletes audio files. For lasting organization, use Playlists, Likes, and History.
